Explore The Way ForwardClosing The Access Gap
The barrier isn't always potential. Sometimes it's access.
People can possess the motivation to change, the willingness to work, and the desire to build a better life, yet still face barriers that prevent them from moving forward.
A family may need nutritious food.
An individual may need mental health support.
A returning citizen may need a landlord willing to provide an opportunity.
Someone ready for independence may simply need help navigating the resources available to them.
T.A.M.A.R. exists to help bridge those gaps.
Financial Barriers
Deposits, fees, and upfront costs can stand between people and the stability they are ready to build.
Information & Navigation
Resources exist, but knowing where to start, who to call, and what to bring can feel overwhelming.
System & Eligibility
Applications, documentation, and program rules can be complex to understand and complete.
Limited Connections
Without a trusted link to providers, landlords, and partners, available help can remain out of reach.
In Their Words
In Their Own Words.
Eric Edwards and Cheree Bond came to T.A.M.A.R. with different needs. Here is what they say happened.
I was about to be homeless. Miles of Freedom connected me to the T.A.M.A.R. program. I worked the program, got a job, and stayed for about 90 days. After I completed the program, we got my own two-bedroom apartment. Without them, we wouldn't be here.
I have been with the T.A.M.A.R. program for a year now. It provided shelter, transportation, health care, and help with credit and finances. It allowed me to gain employment while having a roof over my head, and now I am moving into my own apartment. If you are considering changing your life, this would be the program for you.

How Access Works
From Barriers to Possibilities.
Access is more than a referral. It is the process of helping people identify needs, navigate systems, connect with resources, and receive the support necessary to move toward stability.
Step 1
Identify
Understand each participant's needs, strengths, goals, and barriers to accessing services.
Step 2
Connect
Identify appropriate programs, service providers, resources, and community partners.
Step 3
Navigate
Help individuals understand applications, eligibility requirements, documentation, and service pathways.
Step 4
Support
Coordinate eligible assistance, education, referrals, and case management services.
Step 5
Sustain
Support longer-term stability through follow-up, resource coordination, and ongoing engagement where program resources permit.
